We recently helpd our AGM at which we were very pleased that the District Commissioner could come and invest 3 new Section Assistants who’ve kindly agreed to help the sections run.

We are currently without a permanent Scout Leader or Assistants and the County Team are helping in our efforts to see if we can find a Team. If not, we will not be able to run a Scout Troop and this would be a great shame. If you can help, or know anyone that would like to please get in touch. It’s a very rewarding experience and you’d be giving children memories and experiences for life. Did you know that former cubs and scouts are 20% less likely to suffer mental illness before the age of 50 than those children who don’t gain the confidence that scouting can give them?

Beavers:- We have a full group of Beavers and are keen to recruit adult Assistant Beaver Leaders, who can help run the section.  If you want to find out more, please email us on 1stwhscoutinggsl@gmail.com.

Scouts:-  We are keen to recruit a new Leader as well as Assistant Leaders so we can continue to run a Sctout Troop and continue to give the children skills for life. If you want to find out more, please email us on 1stwhscoutinggsl@gmail.com.

Scout Committee:-  Our enthusiastic  committee, made up of parents, is looking for a parent representative for Scouts. This is helpful in getting feedback about the activities the children are doing and gives Leaders the confidence to carry on or change. Generally we hold meetings once a term occasionally with a BBQ and drinks. Training, to gain an understanding about Scouting, is available for Committee members and is a worth while thing to do.  Please email us on, 1stwhscoutinggsl@gmail.com.
